Here at the Yoga Room we offer classes, programs, workshops and events that will meet and exceed your expectations. The south suburbs jewel yoga studio. Our green heated studio offers classes in temperatures from 80 – 105 degrees with and without humidity. There is something for everyone at The Yoga Room.
Suitable for all levels. This class provides a combination of healthy alignment with freedom to play within familiar and new poses by adding playful & creative ways to approach traditional asana. From beginners to seasoned practitioners, this class hopes to broaden the range of capabilities of each person through the instruction of alignment and breath. This physical practice is offered with some yoga philosophy, music, creative sequences & perhaps some humor.
Suitable for all levels. A restful, calming class including breathing, gentle flowing movements, passive and supported poses. This is a perfect beginning yoga class that is also appropriate for those working with injury, limited mobility, or who prefer a softer, gentler approach to yoga.
Ashtanga (eight limbs) is a specialized sequence of postures and breathing technique that promotes strength, flexibility, and balance. This style of practice allows one to go deeper into the physical poses, while simultaneously encouraging a state of awareness that can bring calm and personal growth. In this class, students will be guided through short form of the primary series as derived from the teachings of K. Pattabhi Jois which has been adapted to be accessible yet challenging.
Suitable for all levels. Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Yin is yoga at its coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments. This class will have you on the floor most of the time, using as many props needed to create as little effort while holding poses. Poses are held for 2-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release. This class will complement your Vinyasa practice and will open and release areas in need of more stretching.
Expand your practice with this set sequence of 26 Bikram postures. A true blend of balance, core strengthening and flexibility. This consistent traditional format of hot yoga helps you strengthen your practice. Set to motivating music, you’ll focus on yoga postures that open the shoulders, hips and spine while strengthening your core and upper body.
A full-body Hatha Practice in the heat with flow, arm balances, inversions and progressive posture variations through creative sequencing. Promotes detoxification and stamina.
Suitable for all levels. In this transformation style of yoga we practice asana in a moving meditation, linking poses with the flow of the breath, music, mantra & yoga philosophy. A practice of effort and ease we move at a steady pace building heat, endurance, flexibility & strength and ultimately, inner stillness.
This practice allows for you to cultivate a space of balance, moving through equal parts Yang and Yin. Build a moving meditation through a sequence of poses engaging breath, strength and balance. Allowing your body to become grounded, transitioning to longer holding surrender poses. You will leave feeling invigorated, uplifted and relaxed for a peaceful evening.
New to yoga? Learn the basic fundamentals of alignment and breathe work for a safe and smart practice through step by step verbal description and demonstration. A slow paced flow of postures linked together by breath.
A creative spin on our regular Vinyasa class that adds the nuances of softer lighting, candles, slower movements and longer holds. This class for all levels uses breath, movement and relaxation to create strength, balance, flexibility, peace and calm.
