When you meet Allyson on the mat, look forward to an energetic, thoughtful practice with a generous sprinkle of alignment cues. At The Yoga Room, you can find Allyson guiding such classes as ‘Slow Flow Yoga’, a Hatha-style guided class and ‘Soul Flow’, an energetic, fully guided vinyasa practice.
Yoga teachers who have had the most influence on Allyson’s practice over the years have included Brenda Temme, who has a very strong Vinyasa background, and Kristin Eaton, with a practice based on Iyengar and alignment. Under the Hart Yoga Teacher Training Program, Allyson became a certified yoga teacher in 2020.
To Allyson, health is a way of life – spanning all ages and stages. This philosophy started to blossom with a Bachelors Degree in Foods and Nutrition and has grown from there. Not surprisingly, Allyson is a fitness enthusiast! Her lifelong fitness endeavors have included weight training and fitness classes, and long distance running. One of her many running accomplishments includes the Boston Marathon!
The way the body works has always been a keen interest of Allyson’s, reaching beyond the science and the physical to recognize the importance of balancing not only the care of the physical body, but the mental and emotional bodies as well. Having been introduced to yoga many years ago, Allyson discovered the symbiotic benefits of melding the training of body, mind and spirit and she was hooked.
