Alma understands that yoga is essential to manage energy and attitude. She believes it is a tool for life and aims to share it with others to enrich their lives as it has hers. She recognizes the mental and physical benefits of yoga and feels that coming to her mat allows her to melt away life’s stresses and rise above challenges through breathing, strength, and balance. She has always been physically active through running, cardio and weight training and recognizes yoga as an excellent complement to a regular fitness routine.
Alma began practicing yoga in 2012 during her lunch breaks while working in the financial services industry. It was a fundamental sanity break, as well as a way to incorporate physical activity in her daily schedule. Her teaching style is authentic and straightforward. She warmly guides students through challenging sequences with her gentle teaching voice and grounding presence. She has a special passion for Vinyasa flow because it encompasses all of the essential elements of yoga. She was inspired by various yoga instructors who extended their love for the practice to their students, and as karma and oneness would have it, Alma aspires to do the same. She was trained by Brenda Temme, through the Lifetime Yoga Teacher Training Program, which is a comprehensive series as directed by Jonny Kest. She holds a 200-hour teaching certification that includes the strong and steady practice of Ashtanga, the flow of Vinyasa, the surrender of Yin, Sequencing, Adjustments, and Meditation.
